My name is Jared Seider, and I’ve been documenting weddings since graduating from film school in 2019. I grew up in a small, rural town in the Sierra Nevada foothills, where spending time outdoors was just part of everyday life. That connection to nature still heavily influences the way I see and film the world today.
Before weddings, I was the friend bringing a GoPro along on backcountry ski days, capturing moments just for the fun of it. That curiosity eventually turned into a deeper love for storytelling and led me to earn a BA in Media Arts from CSU Chico in 2017. When I filmed a wedding for a mutual friend in 2019, everything clicked. The emotion, the energy, the unscripted moments. It felt exactly where I was meant to be.
Today, I approach every wedding with a calm, observant presence, focused on creating films that feel genuine, cinematic, and true to the people in them. I care just as much about the quiet in-between moments as I do the big ones, and I believe the best films are made when couples feel comfortable being themselves.
My approach is cinematic, with subtle documentary influence. I focus on capturing real moments as they unfold so your film feels natural, emotional, and true to the day.
I pay close attention to light, movement, and genuine emotion, allowing moments to breathe rather than directing them. In the edit, I use intentional pacing, carefully chosen music, and thoughtful storytelling to create films that feel timeless and immersive, reflecting not just how your wedding looked, but how it truly felt.
I’ve been professionally filming weddings since 2019, bringing a calm, organized presence to wedding days of all scales. With a film school background and years of hands-on experience, I work efficiently within timelines while remaining unobtrusive and respectful of the overall flow of the day.
I’ve filmed throughout Lake Tahoe, Napa, and Northern California, including outdoor and logistically complex events. I value clear communication, reliability, and collaboration, and I arrive prepared to support the vision of the event while delivering polished, cinematic films that feel cohesive with the full wedding experience.
Cat enthusiast: my wife and I have a cat named Luna, and she rules our lives.
Travel is my reset button. I’ve backpacked the Himalayas, explored the jungles of Peru, and love unwinding with my wife in the UK during the off-season.
I’m a die hard skier and mountain biker who loves spending time outdoors and exploring on my time away from shooting weddings.
I believe wedding films should feel timeless, emotional, and honest. never staged or overproduced. My approach is rooted in storytelling, capturing real moments as they unfold and turning them into cinematic films that feel true to who you are.
I work calmly and intentionally, blending into the day while focusing on the details that matter most - the glances, the laughter, the quiet in-between moments. The result is a film that doesn’t just document your wedding, but preserves how it felt.
